St. Francis Memorial Garden

The St. Francis Memorial Garden was dedicated in 1984.  It was made possible by the generosity and dedication of Mrs. William M. Shaw in memory of her husband.   The focal point of the garden is a statue of St. Francis which was carved in Vicenza, Italy, the country of St. Francis of Assisi’s birth in 1182.

It is a restful place for meditation and is a place for the burial of cremated remains of parishioners and their families.  A tablet is maintained with the names of those interred in the garden. Every effort is made to maintain its beauty as a garden and not a cemetery.  The cost of annual plantings is largely supported by donations which are always welcome.  The garden is maintained by a guild of volunteers and we invite others to participate.  Please contact Betsy Bede or Virginia Holland for additional information.
