St. James Day School

St. James Day School provides a positive learning environment where children can develop in a setting that is both stimulating and secure.  We strive to recognize the individuality of children and encourage them to grow, learn and most importantly build confidence.

We provide experiences that foster children’s social and emotional development as well as expose them to the five developmental areas of growth.  We strive to make St. James Day School a wonderful place for your child to grow and learn.  Your comments and inquries are always welcome!!

Curriculum

The Day School curriculum includes both student directed and teacher directed activities and is set up to allow teachers to observe and foster children’s interests.  All learning activities are adaptable to be responsive to children with varying ability levels.  Our curriculum recognizes children’s individuality and encourages them to grow, learn and build self -confidence.  Through learning centers, group time, math concepts, art, and music, each student receives a well- rounded education that will prepare them for the future.

Our school utilizes a theme- based curriculum tailored to the academic needs of each child.  Each theme contains music, finger plays, art experiences, math concepts, cooking, science experiments, books and songs. By organizing the curriculum around a theme, teachers can plan meaningful child-centered curriculum that focuses on children’s emerging interests.
