Lift Up the Vulnerable
When “Yousif” was six, he was forced to start working in the gold mining camps.
Yousif was exposed to threats, physical abuse, and hazardous working conditions with no access to education. Many of the children around him died in these terrible conditions. Yousif faced abuse day after day, only to come up empty-handed many nights, and go to bed hungry.
Yousif was one of more than 152 million children exploited as child laborers.
But when Yousif was rescued by Lift Up the Vulnerable (LUV)’s anti-trafficking network, his life was transformed. Thanks to our partners at St. James, Yousif—and hundreds of vulnerable children—now have access to protection, education, emotional and Christ-centered spiritual support… and a chance to simply be a child again. Your generosity can make a life-saving difference!
YOU HAVE THE POWER TO PROTECT MORE KIDS LIKE YOUSIF.
Lift Up the Vulnerable is on a mission to prevent the trafficking and oppression of vulnerable children and women in warzones. Since 2005, our leaders have a proven track record of effectively navigating and building partnerships in war-torn communities marked by violence and extreme poverty throughout Sudan and South Sudan. Our solution is a holistic model that provides protection, education, and economic development to eliminate the exploitation of vulnerabilities, provide freedom, and restore hope. We envision a world where vulnerable children and women are empowered and, through them, war-torn nations are transformed.

“As Steve and I learned more about the massive problem of human trafficking worldwide, we both knew we had found the cause of our lifetime—fighting the greatest evil of the 21st century through helping the ‘least of these’ in the most forsaken countries. I have served on many nonprofit boards, and Lift Up the Vulnerable is the most compelling and rewarding work I have ever had the privilege of doing. We have seen God use this ministry to bless helpless victims who had no hope before LUV became their advocate and protector. I urge everyone who is interested to come partner with this dedicated group of life-saving volunteers, indigenous leaders, and staff.” - Louise Coggins
“Human trafficking continues to be a global problem and is particularly widespread in the lawless cultures of Sudan and South Sudan. By using indigenous leaders, LUV has found a way to effectuate change. We have to continue to help these shockingly abused women and children to help them have a life and to give them hope of a brighter future. LUV is the answer.” - Mary Boney Clark
