Notice: Suspension of all St. James Activities until further notice due to COVID-19
NOTICE: ALL ST. JAMES ACTIVITIES ARE SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Dear St. James Parishioners,
We have all been updated on the Coronavirus on a daily, sometimes hourly basis. Since Steve Thomas’ letter to the parish on Friday, your clergy and vestry have made the unanimous decision to suspend ALL St. James activities until further notice. This suspension includes all worship services, the Day school, Wednesday night Lenten gatherings, all committee meetings, everything. The church office will remain open. We want to take every precaution necessary to keep our parishioners’ health and welfare as the top priority. Instead of picking and choosing, what activities seemed “safe” we have erred on the side of caution and hope that will keep any confusion at a minimum.
We will stay in close communication with our parishioners and keep you updated as events unfold. For now, we will follow what health officials and our state and local leaders are suggesting at this time, which is to do everything possible to keep this virus at bay.
One of the great things about technology these days, is the ability it gives us to stay in touch. St. James will be offering various opportunities for worship and ways to strengthen our faith, online, as we navigate these times.
Please make an extra effort to reach out to your church friends and check in on one another; especially those who would not see notices online through the website or email blasts. We will be sending out updates by mail and making phone calls to check in on our church family. Please contact clergy or vestry members and let us know any questions or concerns you may have. Even in these uncertain times, we know that, “this too shall pass.”
God bless you all,
Florence Ellen Cowden
Jr. Warden, St. James Parish
