Telling Your Story: Guided Autobiography Class

January 28 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Tuesdays, Beginning January 28th | 9:00-11:00 a.m. | Stephen Ministry Room
We will meet for seven weeks on Tuesdays, from January 28 – March 11
Guided Autobiography may be just right for you if:

  • You want to write your stories, but it’s hard to get started
  • You have many stories but aren’t sure how to organize them
  • You have never thought of yourself as a “real writer” but you would like to hand on some stories to children and grandchildren
  • You are trying to be active in ways that stimulate the brain

Class Format:

  • Each week we focus on a new theme
  • Fresh resources are given weekly to boost memory recall
  • At home each week, participants write a two-page story (900 to 1,000 words)
  • The following week, participants share their stories in a small supportive group, committed to confidentiality

Writing and telling your story can have real benefits:

  • Increase your sense of well-being
  • Create a legacy to share with others
  • Help you gain new perspective on your life
  • Build bonds of community and connection
  • Stimulate the brain in very healthy ways
  • Additionally, some say the class itself is a spiritual experience

Interested? That’s great! Please check your calendar and plan to attend all seven classes (though we all know that emergencies can come up.)

Since the resources build on each other, this is not a “drop-in” class.
You are encouraged to sign up by January 21st, since space is limited.
There is a suggested donation is $45, with scholarship help available.

To register, please Visit our registration page or reach out to Mary McKnight at [email protected].
