Telling Your Story: Guided Autobiography Class
January 28 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
We will meet for seven weeks on Tuesdays, from January 28 – March 11
- You want to write your stories, but itâs hard to get started
- You have many stories but arenât sure how to organize them
- You have never thought of yourself as a âreal writerâ but you would like to hand on some stories to children and grandchildren
- You are trying to be active in ways that stimulate the brain
Class Format:
- Each week we focus on a new theme
- Fresh resources are given weekly to boost memory recall
- At home each week, participants write a two-page story (900 to 1,000 words)
- The following week, participants share their stories in a small supportive group, committed to confidentiality
Writing and telling your story can have real benefits:
- Increase your sense of well-being
- Create a legacy to share with others
- Help you gain new perspective on your life
- Build bonds of community and connection
- Stimulate the brain in very healthy ways
- Additionally, some say the class itself is a spiritual experience
Interested? Thatâs great! Please check your calendar and plan to attend all seven classes (though we all know that emergencies can come up.)
