Glory Ridge Mission Experience 2024

During their time on the Ridge our young people will take time to connect with God’s creation through quiet moments, fellowship, music, and service of the human family. We ask that our parish family lift them up in prayer as they soak in all of the love and wisdom the time together brings!

“Glory Ridge” is a place in the mountains near Marshall, NC “where a Carpenter mends broken hearts.” Its natural beauty is enhanced by the people who come to “the Ridge” to serve people in need, to absorb the beauty of nature, to live one week experiencing the Presence of God without a gazillion distractions, and to worship under the stars as fireflies dance in the evening reminding us to embrace the “little things” that light up our lives! Imagine….. our young people do NOT have their cell phones and the adults only use their phones if supplies are needed to be brought to them on their work sites!
Glory Ridge offers something very special! It offers each of us the opportunity to slow down and to hear the whisper of God. On our worksites, work is done together and our residents’ houses & their lives are improved. Our young people learn about the mountains and their culture. Lives are changed as relationships are built! Back on “the Ridge” there is time to explore the beauty of God’s Creation…… the French Broad River, walking to the Overlook, sitting with friends on the top of “the Ridge, or in the Worship Pavilion talking, sharing, laughing, being together with no other distractions. Yes, Glory Ridge is simple and filled with time and space to ponder the glory and the love of our God!
