St. James Parish is an active, working church and its congregation plays a vital role in community life. There are members of the congregation who attend St. James because their families have attended for generations and there are those, new to Wilmington, who attend St. James because it is welcoming and somehow familiar. Members of the congregation come to this downtown parish from their homes in the country, in the county, the beach, the suburbs, from downstream and upstream, the historic district and the marinas.

Our Vision is for St James Parish to be a committed, loving, supportive parish family that provides opportunity, encouragement and nourishment for all to know Christ and make him known.
