Thanking Florence Ellen!

Dear St. James Parish Family,
I write to share the bittersweet news that Parish Administrator Florence Ellen Cowden will be stepping down from her role at the end of February. Her decision comes from a desire to be more available with support and presence to her beloved and extended family at this important time.
All who have encountered Florence Ellen during her tenure have experienced an extraordinary blend of care, faithfulness and compassion. She has been a true gift to me as Rector and to our entire staff over this past year. As Parish Administrator, she had modeled what it means to be “the heart” of our operation, for which we are so grateful.
Florence Ellen and Web (and their family) will continue, of course, to be fully engaged as members of our family and in their special blend of ministries. We are blessed by their presence.
We now begin a search for our next Parish Administrator. The position description will be shared with a variety of professional and Episcopal platforms tomorrow.
As always, my door is open for any thoughts or questions you may have. In the meantime, please join me in thanking Florence Ellen for her talent and service to our parish.
Blessings.
The Rev. C. Phillip Craig, Jr.
