All Saints Memorial Garden at Mt Lebanon Chapel

All Saints' Memorial Garden - Lebanon Chapel

How Can You Be A Part of All Saints' Memorial Garden?
  • Sale of plots are now on a first-come, first-served basis to the parishioners of St. James Parish and St. Andrew's-On-The Sound.
All Saints' Memorial Garden Opportunities
  • Within the existing cemetery on the Mount Lebanon Chapel grounds, All Saints' Memorial Garden has been created as a place of rest, meditation, and prayer. Overlooking Bradley Creek, All Saints' contains both urn garden plots and a scatter garden. St. James Episcopal Church and St. Andrew's-On-The-Sound parishioners and their immediate family members may use it as a place of interment for their cremated remains.
  • There are a limted number of urn garden plots in the Memorial Garden, and up to two sets of remains may be interred in each plot. The cost of a plot is $2000 for one or $3000 for two sets of cremains. Names and dates are carved on recessed stone markers, which lay flat in each plot.
  • The scatter garden features a stone monument, and those who have their ashes interred in this area will have their names and dates carved on the monument. The cost for interment in the scatter garden is $750.
  • There are seven benches (4'x18"x3') remaining in the Memorial Garden, are available for dedication at $1800 per bench. Donors will be responsible for any additional engraving costs.

The history of St. James Parish is well documented in a fine book by noted local historian, Susan Taylor Block, who is a member of our parish. Copies of Temple of Our Fathers (published by ARTSPEAKS in 2004), may be purchased at our parish gift shop.

A dedicated archivist at St. James Parish, the late Leora Hiatt McEachern, has also written a History of St. James Parish, 1729 – 1979, completed in 1985 with the assistance of Bill Reaves, containing many interesting details of the history of the parish and its rectors.

Extensive historical information about St. James is also contained in Wilmington, North Carolina: An Architectural and Historical Portrait, Tony P. Wrenn and William Edmund Barrett (Univ. of Virginia Press, 1984; see pp. 78 - 82).

Welcome Children Service Times Location Membership

We extend a sincere welcome to you and we hope you will come and find your place at St. James. We have long been an active, working church with parishioners who play a vital role in parish ministries and community life. The range of St. James' ministries is as broad as the interests of its members.

Christian Formation for children endeavors to support and supplement the family's efforts to raise children as followers of Christ. Children's Formation includes Sunday classes as well as seasonal festivals and intergenerational events. Preschool ages 2 to 5 years, and grades 1 through 5 use a lectionary-based curriculum enhanced with art and music. Middle school classes include confirmation preparation and current event issues. Senior high classes engage in weekly Bible study from a young person's perspective.
