Bishop's Visit: 10:15 a.m. - Rite II
Sunday, May 5, 2024, 10:15 AM
St. James is happy to announce that The Rt. Rev’d Robert Skirving, Bishop of the Diocese of East Carolina, will be at St. James on Sunday, May 5, 2024. Joyfully, he will offer the sermon at both of our morning services.
During the 10:15 am service, the Bishop will administer the Sacramental Rite of Confirmation, Reception and Reaffirmation. All are warmly welcome!
The Book of Common Prayer states that, “Confirmation is the rite in which we express a mature commitment to Christ and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop.” (p. 860).
Come worship with us at St. James! The 10:15 a.m. service is Rite II and so you’ll hear our choir along with more contemporary language. Wiggling, giggling, and sharing are welcome in all services but the 10:15 has a special place for our littles.
The 10:15 worship offers Children’s Chapel during the service for our younger parishioners.
