Want to get involved! We've got some great committees that help to grow our ministries.
Christian Formation Committee
The Christian Formation Committee meets quarterly throughout the year to review, plan, and set a vision for the formation offerings for children, youth, and adults at St. James.
The Communications Committee plans the vision of communications for St. James— from website to technology integration throughout the church— they execute the outward vision of St. James and assist other committees of St. James in their communications plans.
Our goal is to bring strangers, those looking for a church home, and newcomers into a relationship with God by welcoming them to and into our faith family. We strive to make St. James Parish a warm, friendly community through our communications, events, ministries, and programs.
The Finance Committee is made up of two non-Vestry members, four Vestry members, and the Treasurer. We review financials monthly and often make suggestions to the Vestry. We set the annual budget which is sent to the Vestry for approval in January.
The Hospitality Commission is responsible for organizing the fellowship opportunities for the parish. This includes volunteers for Coffee Hours, Lemonade at Lebanon and special celebrations that may occur during the year.
Mt. Lebanon Chapel Committee
The Mt. Lebanon Chapel committee serves under the vestry and is responsible for the operating budget, preserving and maintaining the Chapel building in a historical mode/tradition; and the grounds in a natural and maintained appearance for current and future generations.
The Nominating Committee consists of five people, Senior Warden, Junior Warden, a previous Warden and two members at large. We are charged with coming up with a slate for both the Vestry for the coming year and the Foundation Board.
The charge of the St. James Outreach Committee is to offer opportunities to our parish family for participation in ongoing service projects which benefit our local community. The Outreach Committee meets the third Tuesday of each month at 5:15 in the Graham Parlor; any interested parishioner is invited to attend.
This Stewardship Committee is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the church's stewardship, including establishing a stewardship theme, planning and conducting stewardship events, and ensuring we use our time, talent, and resources for God's kingdom.
The worship committee meets quarterly and consists of all the worship ministries: Altar Guild, Acolytes, Ushers, music, Lectors, and Chalicists.
