Bonhoeffer In a Time of Responsibility
Tuesday, April 16, 2024, 6:00 PM
The St. James Speaker Series is pleased to host a very special upcoming four-part evening series on the writings and work of theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Led by Bonhoeffer scholar, Dr. Wayne Floyd (husband of The Rev. Dr. Nancy Jose), we invite you to join us on Tuesdays, through May 7th for Bonhoeffer In a Time of Responsibility, a present-day deep dive into the wisdom of one of Christian history’s most important figures.
The third installment of the series meets tonight (April 23) and will be held in the Great Hall from 6:00-7:30 pm. Here's a look at the evening's itinerary:
- 6:00-6:30 p.m. - A Light Dinner - $15/person for those who wish to attend. Please make sure to RSVP - seats are limited.
- 6:30 - 7:15 p.m. - Dr. Wayne Floyd presents.
- 7:15 - 7:30 p.m. - A brief Q&A will be offered before our gathering closes with Compline.
The May 7 installment will be in the Great Hall over hors d’oeuvres and will be an open group discussion/overview of the prior presentations; how Bonhoeffer’s teachings share parallels with our current culture and “time of responsibility” as fellow Christians. Please note, there is no dinner or Zoom on May 7th.
We invite you to share in this unique opportunity to hear and learn about Dietrich Bonhoeffer from one of the theologian’s foremost authorities.
Those who would prefer not to attend dinner should plan to arrive prior to the program start time of 6:30 p.m.
Cannot join us in person? Don't worry! You can Zoom in to participate and a recording of each session will be available upon request.
RSVP FOR NIGHT 4 - 5/7 - Please note there will be no dinner or zoom offered with this discussion session.
